To celebrate the 10 billionth app download from Android Market, Google is offering some premium Android apps for as little as 10p/10c (plus tax). These premium apps would usually cost substantially more but for a limited time period Android users can download them at a fraction of the cost.
Today sees the announcement of the Sony Ericsson LiveView™ micro display, an accessory with remote control functionality. It’s coming! Android 3.0, codenamed Gingerbread, has joined its tasty friends Eclair and Froyo in the Google HQ. This probably signals the imminent arrival of the latest installment of the mobile OS, which is rumoured to have a larger emphasis on the user interface and ease-of-use. Android releases have all been named after dessert type food, from Cupcake to FroYo (Frozen Yogurt). The up-coming 3.0 release is to be called Gingerbread. We already know that the release after GB is going to be called Honeycomb, but what will 4.0 be?
Ice Cream.
I guess the options are limited with the letter “I”. I’m hoping that the “J” release will be Jammie Dodger. With a limit edition release of the world’s favourite jam filled biscuits sporting an Android in the centre.
