HTC Desire a T3 award and won two.

Congratulations to HTC on scooping two awards at T3′s 2010 awards. The Android powered HTC Desire won Phone of The Year, beating the iphone4.
The Desire nearly matches the iPhone in a number of key areas, looks clean-lined and functional, and it does it cheaper and on an open platform. Android Market is starting to rival the App Store for quality wares, as well. – T3

Passing on The Gingerbread Rumour

Have you heard? Yes probably you have. The highly anticipated update to the Android OS could begin to roll out next week. Not much is really known about it apart from the fact the focus of the release is on the UI. AndroidandMe quote that several hardware partners said it “change the way we use our phones”.
Hopefully by the end of next week there will be plenty of videos to wet the apatite.

Orange UK making Android smartphones affordable

Orange UK announced today that they are to release a smartphone called the San Francisco. Although they have not given the reason behind the naming of the phone they do have a video introduction of it.

T-Mobile G2 to have 800MHz processor

The major news is that it will pack a 800MHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor as opposed to the rumored 1GHz Snapdragon. However, it will run a stock version of Froyo, and offer full Flash 10.1 support. It will also be one of the first phones to support the HSPA+ network, bringing its users speeds higher than ever before.

Sprint Announced First Android-Powered Phone Will Be Available Starting July 25

Sprint announced that its first Google Android-powered smartphone with Nextel Direct Connect will be available on Sunday, July 25, through direct ship sales channels. Those channels include Business Sales, telesales and Web sales.
The device will cost $149.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade, two-year service agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
On Sunday, August 8, the device will be available in all remaining Sprint sales channels.
